(ContentDesk) January 17, 2006 -- Guests and travellers have been known for years to be putting the thought of their hotel room hygiene out of their heads. According to Opinion Research, nine out of ten guests are more inclined to choose a hotel with more hygienic rooms as a result.Swab tests of TV controllers, door handles, bed covers and mattresses have been long understood by todays hotel guests as concerning, regardless of class or demographic. As issues such as Avian Flu, SARS and other pathogen based headlines continue to convert the everyday guest to discerning health conscious guest, the demand for healthier options when travelling has never been more overwhelming. Well aware of consumer queasiness about tucking into a bed that has been slept on by strangers, hotel chains have been laundering the image of their bedspreads. According to two new surveys, cleanliness is even more important in a hotel room..Leading Statistics Provider, Market Metrix 2005.Whilst a handful of larger chains have introduced more frequent laundering of bedding, dust mite resistant fibres and other minor measures, the lack of practical solutions for hotels that dont impact cost, bookings and schedules heavily, mean guests are still saying eeww and have been for as long as they can remember. These examples not only prove that guests want healthier options and hotels are paying attention, but they also highlight the limited options hotels are faced with, along with their cringing guests.Perhaps thats why the Healthy Hotels Program has been received so well amongst guests and hoteliers, even prior to official release, scheduled for June 2006.By combining a newly developed technology in mattress and bedding sanitisation, with an easily accessible online portal, guests can logon and view their certified Healthy Hotels in each city with ease. The site explains the differences of a certified hotel, as they relate to the hotel guest.
It also provides links for booking options should they be required.Guests can read about current health topics and the latest solutions available from vaccinations and personal hygiene, to current problem areas around the world. A free monthly newsletter keeps travellers informed of these issues and the latest healthy locations for them to consider when in transit. For the show, site or publication with an interest in the traveller audience, the Healthy Hotels Guide has incredible pulling power. Just ask yourself, have you ever wondered if the bed was clean? The Cooking of Kerala
Kerala is situated on the South West coast of India right beside Tamil Nadu.
The capital is Cochin with its bustling harbour lined with fishing nets and home to fishing boats of all shapes and sizes.
Much of the architecture has been influenced by the Chinese who traded along the coast leaving legacy of cooking pots similar to woks, cleavers and pickling jars.
As well as the Chinese, the abundance of spices in Kerala attracted the attentions of the early Phoenicians, Syrians, Egyptians, Greeks and Romans all of whom were happy just to trade and return home.
Fighting over the territory didn’t begin until the late 15th Century when the British, Dutch, Portuguese and French tried to stake their claims to the spice riches.
The British ended up the victors and set up a factory and depot dealing in spices in Tellicherry, a name still associated with good quality pepper.

Back-to-School Bedwetting
CHICAGO (ContentDesk) August 14, 2005 -- Waking up in a wet bed is not a good way to start the school day.
According to the National Kidney Foundation approximately 5 million children wet the bed every night. The majority of these children have never been dry and many are teenagers.
If you are the parent of one of these kids, or a concerned adult you can imagine the serious impact unresolved bedwetting can have in regard to a child's self-esteem. This is perhaps the most important reason to be proactive in seeking a solution to this uncomfortable and often embarrassing situation. It is important to note that a child does not need to be ashamed of a condition over which he or she has no control.
Bedwetting referred to by the medical community as "pediatric nocturnal enuresis," is not a result of a "lazy child" or bad parenting. Most likely your child's wetting has a genetic basis. Therefore your child is no more responsible for bedwetting then he is for choosing...

Bunk Beds Change, People Don't
I remember vividly the day my family moved from Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Chicago. I was all of ten years old and like any child would be, excited to see the city. My father had received a promotion at the bank he had worked at since well before I was born and we were now leaving the relative comfort of our home for an apartment on Michigan Avenue. Driving into the city was almost surreal, and although sullen over leaving my friends behind, I was enthralled with the possibility of great opportunities that lay ahead. All the wonder and amazement I was experiencing after having traveled through the concrete canyons of the Windy City was soon overshadowed by the news that my father decided to impart to me the moment we entered our new domicile.
I would be sharing a room with my younger brother.
I recall the feeling one might have if a death sentence were handed down to him over some petty offense. The fact that they wanted me, a sophisticated young lad who was sure than...
